renewed website

My ukraine friend worked on my site... Let me know what you think if you have time. I think it looks better than the one I had before. It's not done yet, though.

I like it. Special mention of the ideogram with the rising sun. I would've preferred to be able to read the text from your National Geographic feature though.

I agree with Monsoux- If I could hover over the text and see it better or something... maybe? But it looks really nice, Ikuru...

I love your work so much and somehow the design of the website doesn't draw me in as much as I'd like. Maybe I want a better stage for the images, as well as an option to read the captions (especially on the stories). I never like black as a background for web porfolios, especially f the images are small (I think your pictures could be bigger here, but maybe on a different computer they are?)
In any case, it shows the breadth and depth of the work that you've been doing, and for that it works fine enough. Of course, you should be proud of such a fine body of images made in a relatively short time. Wow!

Thanks for the feedbacks. I had bigger pictures, but I asked him to make it smaller since it would be slow... He is working on a better stage and captions as well... Anyway, thank you very much for the honest comments, and I would like more if someone could give us more insights. And, thanks a lot Zhenya...

Haha thanks everybody! I'd like to add something too. Monsoux, it's not just ideogram it is his name as well. It can be translated as "life" but names are not translatable actually. You would've preferred to be able to read the text from his National Geographic feature but do you speak Romanian?..
Sheila, there will be captions - work in progress.
For now we (me and Ikuru) wanna know your first impression and maybe some ideas... anyway thank you all.
PS Yo Bruce Lee for the first time you spelled my name correctly haha

Hi Sam. As a matter of fact I do, being a Romanian and all :) Anyways, congrats on the nice work. I for one enjoy the black, dark background, it makes for a better canvas when looking at the pictures, as opposed to light or white background. Again, that's just my view :)

As for the size of the pictures I understand larger pictures means optimizing and all the problems related to speed of the image being uploaded. As a Mac/Firefox user I pretty much get to make the webpages I am reading as small or as little as I generally please, with CTRL - or +. In this particular case though CTRL + was useless for some reason.

Cheers.

Hi Monsoux, haha sorry man :) didn't know you are Romaninan. You can not Ctrl + because its flash-based stuff..
Anyway it's gonna be different.. not sure how exactly but i wanna make pics bigger and there will be a button for "captions" or whatever Ikuru calls it...

Uh.. it's not about flash-based thing.. everything has fixed size there that's why.. My brains is just not with me today either.

I like it too, very simple and the small stage size will be compatible for a lot of viewers. obviously captions are lacking now and it would be great to get the photos (the best part!) bigger somehow but these are the trade-offs we all have to work with. The menu is clean and the site loads quickly (i am on dairy queen wifi as i type.) nice, good luck

I like it man. Though as some other people mentioned, I would like bigger photos and some captions. It's a good start though, keep up the amazing work you're doing.
